Fall is here and that means winter won’t be far behind. So if you haven’t even thought about winterizing your truck yet, it might be about time to do that!
So we’ve partnered with Bossier Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram to bring you these 5 Tips for Winterizing Your Truck.
Check the Tires
Because cold temperatures can lower tire pressure, you’ll need to check this regularly. Also make sure your tires have enough tread for the upcoming winter season. Be sure to switch to studded tires or put on snow chains if needed.
Mind Your Winshield
Along with making sure to use a winshield washer solution that will not freeze, you want to check your wiper blades. Make sure they’re in good condition and replace them if they’re more than six months old.
Make Sure Your Four Wheel Drive is Operational
This might not be something you’d normally think of, but things do break down and malfunction from time to time. And in the winter isn’t the time you want your four wheel drive not working!
Check your Belts and Hoses
Although they usually last a very long time, belts and hoses can break, split and crack. Make sure yours are up to par before winter sets in.
Test Your Heater and Defrost
You absolutely don’t want to be without either of these in the winter. Make sure both are in good running order before it gets too cold out there.
These things are simple yet oh so important. Hopefully these tips for winterizing your truck will be a good reminder of what to take care of before the cold weather hits.
