I know what it's like to want to get out of the house during the summer but you don't have a ton of cash to spend. That's why we've partnered with Lee Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram to bring you these suggestions for Fun Day Trips That Won't Break the Bank.

5 Fun Day Trips That Won't Break the Bank

Head to the Beach

Undoubtedly, this is my ultimate favorite day trip! The beach has so much to offer, from finding shells, playing volleyball and swimming to flying a kite,  taking a walk and just enjoying the ocean. We went last month and my girls learned to boogie board, it was amazing! If you live close enough to experience all the beach has to offer, I definitely recommend heading there for a day.

Go up in the Mountains

Some people really enjoy the mountains and all the adventurous things to do there. From skiing and snowboarding to hiking and biking, there really is something for everyone. And if you're a nature lover, you'll be in heaven!

Set Out on a Drive

This is a favorite of mine also because all you have to do is fill the gas tank, bring some snacks (or pack a lunch), and go! You can explore far away or close to home, depending on if you want to be gone for a few hours or all day long. Getting out and visiting new towns and places is always fun to do, and you can even have your picnic lunch in a park you've never been to before.

Travel to the River

If you live close enough that you can take a day trip to a river, you should definitely do so. There are so many fun activities to do there: fishing, boating, swimming, wading, even catching crawdads (one of our favorites!) We have a nice park with a small creek that runs through it that is perfect for both having a picnic and wading, it's a great way to cool off on a hot day.

Visit a Museum

Last but not least, there are some museums that are free or inexpensive and some that are quite expensive, it just depends on where you live and the type of museum.  So you might have to really search for the cheaper ones, but visiting a museum is always a fun and educational experience for the family. From Air Museums, Train Museums, and Space Museums to History and Art Museums, I'm sure you can find something that everyone will enjoy.
