In blogging and in life these days, it’s all around us- competition. It’s so easy to lose focus on what we’re doing and look in the lane of the person beside us. We’re so consumed with what everyone else is doing instead of being the best we can be. I like to say “Be the best you“, and that means you have to run your own race.

But what does that actually mean, run your own race?
It means that we have to focus on ourselves and stop comparing ourselves to others. Everyone’s situation is different. And even if you’re in a similar situation, YOU are different, so you’ll likely have a different outcome.
Maybe you’re like me and you struggle with this. It’s so easy to see others doing well (or so it seems) and get discouraged when you look at your life or situation.
But there are things you can do to help you be the best you that you can be. They might seem like small things, but anything that helps me stay focused and encouraged is to me, a good thing.
Ways to be the best you and run your own race
Set Your Own Goals
Don’t base your goals on what’s popular or what you see other people doing. You should have a set of goals for yourself that you can look at to help measure your accomplishments and gauge your success. Goals that will encourage you to accomplish tasks and make headway in your business, blog or life.
Give Yourself Grace
Only you know what you are capable of. At the end of the day, if you’ve fallen short in any way, shape or form, give yourself grace. Nobody is perfect and tomorrow is another day. Don’t measure yourself based upon what others are doing…you are not them, you are you. Just because you don’t accomplish a task the way you expected to does not make you a failure. Get up, dust yourself off, and try again.
I do this in a variety of ways. It means I start my day right, with a little reading, prayer, and creative thinking. I also love to surround myself with inspirational things, whether it be pictures, quotes, or fashion.
That’s why I love Cents of Style’s inspirational t-shirts. When I wear one, I’m continuously reminded throughout my day to be positive, stay inspired, and run my own race. I own a couple of them now and can’t wait to get more, there are so many that I like!
And speaking of getting more, you’re in luck because right now Cents of Style is offering a discount to my readers! Get their Tribe Tees for $16.95 + FREE SHIPPING, use the code SHOPINSPIRATION to get your discount! Visit their website here to get yourself inspired! *This offer is only good through April 6, 2017 so hurry!
Remember, be the best you and run your own race. It’s a good day to have a good day. Stay positive, and keep smiling! 🙂
