This Blogger’s Poem for the New Year was written last night in fun. It is dedicated to my favorite bloggers whom I mention, and also to the smaller bloggers out there still trying to make it.
It was the night before the New Year, and all through the house
I was up frantically blogging, yeah I was working that mouse!
The resolutions were made, I’d thought about them with care
I want to be a successful blogger, but how do I get there?
Maybe I’ll travel the world in an RV like Michelle Schroeder Gardner
Oh wait, maybe not…I have a son and three daughters!
I’d love to have the success of Holly Homer from Kids Activities Blog
But lately the only ones reading my blog are my family and maybe my dog.
Pat Flynn’s making millions, man he’s got it going on
Meanwhile I just want to find my audience, is that so wrong?
Jeff Goins says that I’m a writer and I should start acting like one
I managed to write a review that’s in his book, boy that was fun!
My 15 seconds of fame, but it’s kinda funny
No matter what I call myself these days, I still need to make more money.
Trying to find my place in this online world of sorts
I might never be as big as Becky Mansfield from Your Modern Family
And that’s okay, I don’t need to reach millions, just many.
Ruth Soukup teaches How to Blog for Profit Without Selling Your Soul
And if we’re all honest, isn’t being profitable our goal?
I love Carly from Mommy on Purpose because she’s so real
She’s down to earth and seems to know exactly how I feel.
Sarah is amazing, she’s inspired me so much
Their stories have helped me continue when I wasn’t sure if I could go on.
But I hope they all haven’t forgotten what it’s like
to be small and striving so hard for a place in the light.
We all work hard, to that there’s no doubt
And we should support each other too, isn’t that what life is all about?
Instead of competing, why can’t we all work together?
You’ve heard the saying, together we’re better.
So I will stop comparing myself to others and work on my own goals
Success looks different for everyone as we all have different roles.
Making major strides this year sure would be a plus
But I’ll never give up because, after all, there’s room at the top for all of us!
Remember life doesn't have to be perfect to love where you are!
