As a mom, I really appreciate it when I can get my kids to help keep the car clean. Now mind you, keeping the car clean isn't something they typically do without me asking them. But when I do ask, they're usually willing to help out (once the whining stops, that is!).
We've partnered with Kernersville Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram to bring you this helpful list of ideas.
The ultimate best way to keep the car clean is-
What do I mean by that? I mean to not let it get dirty in the first place. Which if you have kids you know that's no easy feat.
Here are some things that might help.
Don't let the kids bring food or drinks in the car.
Unless you're going on a long trip. Do they really need a Barbie doll, her car, and all her accessories for a quick trip to the grocery store?!
Remove dirty shoes.
I carry around extra plastic bags, and they're great for this. If you're kids shoes are dirty, maybe they stepped in something or it's muddy outside, have them slip them off and put them in a plastic bag until you get where you're going. It's really not that big of a deal but can keep the floors from getting muddy and messy.
Now if you're not having much luck with the prevention method ( I get it, even with the best of intentions, it can be hard to enforce these suggestions), here are a few other things you can try to get the kids to help keep the car clean.
Have the kids remove their own items each trip.
This means toys, drink containers, food wrappers, and garbage. If you bring it into the car or use it while you're in the car, you're responsible for taking it out of the car.
Kids Can Help in the Cleaning Process
When it is time for vacuuming and wiping the dashboard down, let the kids help! (If they're old enough, of course!) You might be surprised at how well a 5 year old can actually wipe down a dash board!
